ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE I have the ability to perform the full range of Materials Handler tasks on my own initiative including leading or supervising all warehouse operations and performing work involving the identification, examination, classification, receipt, acceptance, stowage, issue and disposition of Government Furnished Material (GFM) and Contractor Furnished Material (CFM) to provide integrated logistic support for ships; preparing of material including classified or hazardous material for shipment; preparing of material including classified or hazardous material for shipment, the loading and unloading of material from various types of conveyances; stores, stacks and rotates materials under the first in first out (FIFO) concept using common hand tools and complex materials handling equipment (MHE) up to 20,000 pounds capacity; using a variety of packing and preservation techniques such as braces, foam, and multi-application reusable containers to protect equipment and parts prior to shipment; ensuring team complies with established safety, environmental, equipment use and security requirements; conducting formal training on various topics; monitoring and/or performing required personnel management duties involving attendance and leave administration and resolution of complaints; rendering significant decisions on personnel actions such as selection, promotion, and reassignment actions following EEO regulations. I work on my own initiative under limited general supervision subject to occasional inspection. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.
