Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for this position, you must meet the qualification requirements outlined below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-5: You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that is in or related to this position and provided you with the competencies required to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying experience may have been gained by performing clerical work in support of management and/or program analysis functions including performing quality review of documents; resolving procedural problems according to established procedures; and utilizing a personal computer and a variety of software applications to prepare correspondence, reports and other substantive material OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: a bachelor’s degree or four (4) years of education above high school in any field of study from an accredited college or university. OR You may qualify with a combination of education and experience equivalent to one year of full-time employment as defined above. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-6: You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that is in or related to this position and provided you with the competencies to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying experience may have been gained by performing clerical and technical work in support of management and/or program analysis functions which may have included identifying potential and actual problems and/or probable causes; researching specific issues; gathering pertinent statistics or information; monitoring, reviewing, or evaluating operations and interrelationships with other functions in regard to workflow, work redundancy, or systemic problems; revising procedures, controls, etc; and preparing memoranda, preliminary reports, and charts showing recommendations or findings. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-7: You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that is in or related to this position and provided you with the competencies to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying experience may have been gained by performing technical work in support of management and/or program analysis functions which may have included identifying potential and actual problems and probable causes; researching specific issues; gathering pertinent statistics or information, reporting findings and recommending corrective action for the full scope of a program or function; monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating operations and interrelationships with other functions regarding workflow, work redundancy, or systemic problems; and utilizing database or spreadsheet software to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data for use by others. This list is not all inclusive. You must meet the following special requirements: Candidates must meet the typing proficiency and office automation skills, as well as the experience and/or education required for this position. Applicants must be a qualified typist with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute (based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors). Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for three years.
