SUPERVISORY COMMUNITY PROGRAM SPECIALIST

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. For GS-13 Grade Level: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Experience advising on rural and community economic development issues. Independently developed and implemented tools for a broad range of community and economic development issues. Determination of appropriate method for monitoring significant economic development matters which may impact rural places and development through research and liaison activities with federal, state, and local governments, non-profits, and other private sources. Experience developing and promoting innovative and collaborative strategies for delivering technical and financial assistance programs, and trains staff and partners on community economic development principles and practices. Qualifications are based upon meeting specialized experience only. Education cannot be used to qualify for this position.
This position is in the Rural Development (RD), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Wisconsin State Office. USDA provides leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, rural development, nutrition, and related issues. This position is neither remote nor virtual. The employee will be expected to report in person to the Stevens Point, Wisconsin Office. .
