For the GS-13, this position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State in the U.S., the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico is required.**You must include a copy of your registration with your application** GS-13 In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical reviews of mechanical construction drawings and specifications for compliance with functional requirements and conformity with standard engineering and construction practices OR preparing mechanical construction drawings and specifications; 2) Providing commissioning services (preparing commissioning documentation and witnessing functional performance tests) for facility mechanical systems such as heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC), plumbing systems, utilities, or industrial ventilation systems OR providing technical oversight of HVAC system acceptance testing as defined by NAVFAC Instruction 3960.1; 3) Visiting construction sites to inspect mechanical system installations and working with construction professionals to resolve mechanical construction issues. GS-12 In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical reviews of mechanical construction drawings and specifications for compliance with functional requirements and conformity with standard engineering and construction practices OR preparing mechanical construction drawings and specifications; 2) Participating in the commissioning process for facility mechanical systems such as heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC), plumbing systems, utilities, or industrial ventilation systems OR providing technical oversight of HVAC system acceptance testing as defined by NAVFAC Instruction 3960.1; 3) Inspecting new mechanical system installations or existing facilities.
