Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-11, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 level in the Federal service: Assisting with performing the removal and installation of engines, flight control, landing gear, fuel systems, and/or hydraulic systems and sub systems; Assisting with performing preventive and corrective maintenance, inspecting and analyzing physical conditions of components to ensure that all equipment is in reliable, operational, and flight worthy condition; Working with other technicians, engineers, and managers to resolve aircraft maintenance anomalies and make recommendations on resolution of the issue(s). The Maintenance Division, Aircraft Maintenance Branch at the Armstrong Flight Research Center is seeking a skilled individual to support research projects entailing the development and implementation of extensive research modifications. These modifications include troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation, testing and evaluation of complex research aircraft systems and their interface to the basic research aircraft platform.
