Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-1016-12. For this position, Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, administering an office for a museum or cultural institution. Other Relevant Eligibility Criteria: Requires manual dexterity. Requires normal or corrected vision and color perception. Project Management – Ability to manage and coordinate all aspects of a museum project. Office Administration – Skill in managing and administering an office so that it may operate effectively. Artwork Handling – Knowledge of artwork handling techniques and workflows to support movements of works of art. “Experience” refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as the Senior Project Coordinator in support of the activities of the department by managing all digitization projects, providing project management and administrative support to the Head of Imaging and department staff.
