However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Engineering Equipment Operator ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex operation of engineering equipment; the skill, physical coordination and depth perception to operate the various types of equipment with precision. Knowledge of equipment necessary to install attachments, adjust rigging, performs operator maintenance, and operate the equipment safely. Operating knowledge includes knowledge of equipment capacities and characteristics in various terrain and soils, and of rigging necessary to hoist the various loads. – Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT. Operation requires continual effort in manipulating hand and foot controls and turning to observe areas around the equipment. Occasionally performs heavy lifting in changing attachments, rigging loads, and related tasks. Subject to vibration and jolting while operating the equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS. Works outside in all types of weather and terrain. Firefighting and artillery range impact area operations are hazardous. The range hazardous is not considered in job evaluation. Subject to constant noise requiring use of ear protectors.
