In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent which demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes (1) instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation or industrial establishment; and (2) assisting with the administration of a training program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. -OR- Education: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, training or adult education. (NOTE: You MUST provide copies of all your transcripts.) -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education / Training Program Administration Instructional Delivery and Learner Development Instructional Design Technical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). NOTE: Applicants must meet all Time-in-Grade requirements and experience requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Current Federal employees applying under VEOA eligibility are subject to time-in-grade restrictions like any other GS employee.
About the Position: Serve as a Training Specialist (Facilitator) responsible for the analysis, design, development, and implementation of faculty development programs, development of supporting materials. and evaluation of training results for staff and faculty. NOTE: This position is eligible for situational telework only in accordance with agency policy and at managements discretion.
