To qualify as an Acquisition Program Manager, employee must meet the education and specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/1100/general-business-and-industry-series-1101b/ KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.Knowledge of the laws, principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management, as well as the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense, Air Force, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the system acquisition process. 2. Knowledge of business, safety, security regulations, industrial management, contracting procedures, technical concepts, and production practices to evaluate contractor proposals and activities. 3. Skill to plan, organize, and manage critical aspects of research, development, production, and support of subsystems or equipment, and integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of acquisition functions and personnel in support of the process. 4. Skill and ability to negotiate and/or defend findings and program support concepts and skill in preparing and presenting highly complex technical material or highly complex issues, or both, to non-specialists. 5. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy. 6. Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups within the office as well as outside the immediate work unit.
