Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) experience managing the Fire Protection and Prevention Program and for a large military installation or civilian organization; 2) experience supervising emergency personnel such as firefighters; 3) experience reviewing review plans and ensuring that on-site inspection of new construction and alteration/maintenance projects are conducted for compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Selective Placement Factor: This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain the following DOD Firefighter Certifications: Fire Officer IV, Instructor II, Inspector II, Hazardous Material Operations, and Incident Commander certified through DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification System, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board). You MUST submit the certifications.
