NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTER (TITLE 32)

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state’s National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be AFSC qualified within 12 months from date of appointment. Maximum Military Grade: TSgt (E-6) Minimum Military Grade: SrA (E-4) Enlisted – AFSC 2A7X2 Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion). GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training which demonstrates ability to set up and operate test equipment, use test apparatus to apply tests to material or products, record readings, observe and record established reactions, and classify according to defined categories. WG-10 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 18 months of specialized experience which demonstrates ability to use ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws; and knowledge of metal discontinuity, flaw detection, and metal identification. Experience in classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies and recommending courses of action for items of equipment. Experience which demonstrates ability to prepare engine oil and other fluid samples for spectrometric oil analysis. Ability to evaluate the test results, making recommendations of engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority. Experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures. Experience which demonstrates ability to schedule work assignments by priority based on current workload. Must currently hold or have held AFSC 2A7X2. This is an open continuous announcement.
