Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet A, B, or C defined below for the grade to which you are applying. A. To qualify for the GS-09, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1. Assisting in the review of financial assistance applications and modifications for errors. 2. Performing budget analysis on financial assistance applications and modifications. 3. Assisting in the preparation of all documentation required for financial assistance awards. If qualifying based on experience, must meet all. -OR- B. Degree: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. -OR- C. Combination of Experience and Education: Course work as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE) is a bureau within the United States Department of the Interior. OSMRE is responsible for establishing a nationwide program to protect society and the environment from the adverse effects of surface coal mining operations, under which OSMRE is charged with balancing the nations need for continued domestic coal production with protection of the environment.
