Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Establishing goals and objectives; determining guidelines and priorities; and planning, directing, coordinating, tracking, and controlling operational activities for DoD security training activities. Supporting activities related to travel approval, supplies, government procurement activities, reimbursements, and conducting inventory. Overseeing activities related to access and badging, security coordination, safety coordination, and proper disposal of government materials Planning projects, determining scope, organizing project teams, providing guidance, monitoring progress, intervening when needed, and interfacing with vendors Ensuring projects are on time and within budget and confirming quality assurance. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: Administration and Management – Knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production. Organizational Awareness – Knows how social, political, organizational, and technological systems work and operates effectively within them. This includes the policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the work unit or organization. Public Safety and Security – Knowledge of intelligence operations; public safety and security operations; occupational health and safety; investigation and inspection techniques; or rules, regulations, precautions, and prevention techniques for the protection of people, data, and property. Information Management – Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather information; organizes and maintains information or information management systems.
DCSA is Americas Gatekeeper and the largest security organization in the U.S. government. The DCSA Security Academy ensures the mission readiness of Americas Gatekeepers by providing comprehensive training programs to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to support national security. This position serves as the Action Officer for the DCSA Security Academy Director providing support to training programs that ensure mission readiness and mission integration across the DCSA.
