Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in a military or a civilian air traffic control facility that provides tower and radar approach control services. AND Fully executes and formulates air traffic control decisions complying with published Air Traffic Control rules, policies, procedures and federal laws or regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). In addition to meeting the specialized experience: FAA CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To occupy this position, at the time of appointment the incumbent must possess and then continue to maintain the following ATC Certification: FAA Air Traffic Control Specialist Certificate (FAA Form 7220-1) and/or Control Tower Operator’s Certificate issued by an agency of the Federal government. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Developing Others Facilities Technical Competence Technical Credibility Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????12).

About the Position: Responsible for supervision and operation of the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) on a US Army Airfield which accomplishes approximately 130,000 annual IFR and VFR operational flights.
