You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Be sure all experience is documented in your resume by indicating place of employment, job title, length of time performing the duties, and the name and contact information for the supervisor. We must be able to verify this experience in your resume in order for you to receive credit. For the GS-05: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-04 level, or equivalent, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized experience is defined as possessing ALL of the following: – responding to inquiries in person, via email, and on the telephone; AND – reviewing files and documents for completeness and compliance with established guidelines AND – managing documents using automated systems such as Word, Excel, and Power Point. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: four (4) years of education above the high school level. OR You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-5 you must have been at the GS-4 level for 52 weeks.
This position is located at US Mint,Financial Directorate – Human Capital Division. As a Human Resources Assistant, you will be applying, a comprehensive body of HR rules, procedures, and technical methods sufficient to: carry out limited projects; analyze a variety of routine facts; research minor complaints or problems that are not readily understood; and summarize HR facts and issues.
