Conditions of Employment Continued “Salary Range: This is an NK-02 position with full salary potential within that band, however the initial salary range offered for this position will be $39,841 to $64,159 which includes locality pay percentage, unless statutory or regulatory rules prevail. Follow on salary increases based on contribution MAY be earned within the full salary of the NK-02 pay band.” In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, Dispatching Series 2151 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-01, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include Knowledge of communications operations procedures. Knowledge of basic computer operations to include word processing, retrieval and input of data. Knowledge of location and availability of emergency apparatus, the kind of apparatus and equipment needed for the emergency at hand. OR EDUCATION: 4 years above high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must provide transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of communications operations procedures. 2. Knowledge of basic computer operations to include word processing, retrieval and input of data. A qualified typist is not required. 3. Knowledge of location and availability of emergency apparatus, the kind of apparatus and equipment needed for the emergency at hand. 4. Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and work independently without immediate supervision. 5. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing using a calm and stable demeanor while dealing with emergency situations. 6. Ability to maintain good working relationships both within and outside the organization, maintaining a consistently courteous attitude at all times. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide emergency fire, and medical services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment. Maintains an accurate status of all emergency response equipment and personnel to ensure prompt and accurate response.
