Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Worker (MVO/FLO) ~ without more than normal supervision. – 1) carpentry, painting, concrete work, masonry work, asphalt work, and building maintenance; 2) operating a variety of tools and equipment associated with the trades listed above as driving trucks and operating heavy equipment; 3) inspecting and repairing work involving several trades such as roofing, asphalt work, painting, carpentry and cement work. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort-The incumbent handles and carries tools, equipment and materials which weigh up to 50 pounds and occasionally may handle materials and equipment that weigh 100 pounds and over with equipment or assistance from other workers. The incumbent is required to stoop, stretch, bend, kneel and work in a variety of positions. Working Conditions-Tasks are performed inside and outside. Gloves and safety goggles are worn when using power tools. Unpleasant odors are encountered occasionally. Inside work areas are sometimes damp and drafty or subject to inadequate ventilation. Incumbent is subject to cuts and bruises during maintenance and repair operations. There is danger of injury from falls from ladders. Incumbent is subject to accidents when operating snow removal equipment on snow and ice.
