Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs. Knowledge of automotive tools and equipment and their proper, safe use and maintenance. Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Ability to read technical manuals for tools and equipment and learn shop equipment within 90 days of hire. Must possess leadership skills to exercise control over groups of people; ability to appropriately identify hazards or hazardous situations. Must act immediately in any situation which could result in harm to a patron; the ability to tactfully but forcefully provide instruction on safety and facility rules and regulations, and enforce them.
This position is located within Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program. The purpose of this position is to provide technical knowledge, advice and guidance upon request to active duty, retired military members and their eligible dependents.
