Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting the customer through oral and written communication in the successful resolution of problems or cases, 2) Demonstrating courtesy, tact, and good judgment to provide effective customer service and assistance to the managed population, supported commands and agencies, and internal offices/supervisors within the organization, 3) Using a number of computer software packages in the performance of assigned duties which may include, but are not limited to: Word processing, database management, electronic mail, the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS), Personnel Electronic Management System (iPERMS), Total Army Personnel Data Base-Reserve (TAPDB-R), Integrated Work Stations (IWS), Soldier Management System (SMS) and automated form packages. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
About the Position: Performs a wide variety of personnel, administrative and clerical tasks associated with the requirements and procedures of the Interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management System (iPERMS) including processing Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) for Active Army and Reserve Soldiers in Human Resources Command (HRC), The Adjutant General Directorate (TAGD), at Fort Knox Kentucky.
