To qualify for this Financial Mangement Specialist position at the IC-09 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate all of the following: Analyzing data and reconciling transactions in an automated financial system to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy. Providing reports and metrics related to financial trends and the status of financial operations. Applying pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and/or guidance to accounting processes. OR A Master’s or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D.), or at least two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a related field. OR Combination of education and experience To qualify for this Financial Mangement Specialist position at the IC-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate all of the following: Using software and other analysis tools to analyze financial/accounting data to extract metrics, design reports, and/or solve problems that ensure the accuracy of records. Reconciling data between source documents and/or financial systems to identify adjustments using generally-accepted accounting principles and practices. Researching and/or interpreting regulations, policies, and guidance to provide advice on financial matters to stakeholders. OR a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a related field, OR Combination of education and experience. This position is in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Management Division, FEMA Finance Center, Intergovernmental Payments Section, Reimbursables and Reporting Unit. The ideal candidate for this position will possess knowledge, skills, and experience sufficient to review and reconcile accounting transactions and will have experience analyzing data to prepare reports for management review.
