ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of a wide range of engineering theories and concepts. Experience resolving a variety of complex problems associated with various engineering disciplines and in a variety of unique work situations. Experience applying technical requirements to procure material that is not readily available in support of maintenance, overhaul, and repair of critical shipboard systems on submarines. Experience applying a practical understanding of the manufacturing processes to fabricate the repair parts used in the construction of submarines. Experience monitoring work for compliance to technical and contract requirements. FOR GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of theories, concepts, and principles in the technical engineering field. Experience interpreting requirements, defining procedures, and validating material documentation is in compliance with contract requirements and NAVSEA material program requirements. Experience identifying, evaluating, and recommending solutions to resolve technical engineering problems and issues. Experience working with engineers and scientists in a team setting to analyze research and testing requirements. You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the MATERIAL SUPPORT DIVISION, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
