This position is OPEN UNTIL FILLED and may be extended or closed prior to the current closing date. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Element A (73) (Screen-out Element) – Ability to Lead Or Supervise Element B (78) (Screen-out Element) – Provide production support services Element C (25-E) – Knowledge of technical practices Element E (82-A) – Knowledge of materials Element D (75-A) – Ability to interpret instructions, blueprints, specifications, etc. Element F (81) (60) – Ability to use and maintain tools and operate and maintain equipment and use of measuring instruments. This is a supervisory position. Under provision of the Civil Service Reform Act, first-time supervisors are required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period before their appointment becomes final. Those who do not satisfactorily complete this probationary period will be returned to positions of no lower grade and pay than those they occupied before assuming their supervisory assignment. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date. Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934 (title 25, USC Section 472). Additional selections may be made from this announcement if identical vacancies occur in the same location within 90 days from the closing date.
This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Northern Cheyenne Agency in Lame Deer, Montana. This position will provide technical and logistical services for day-to-day activities of the Agency. NOTE: TRAVEL AND RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE AUTHORIZED. ANY RELOCATION EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH REPORTING FOR DUTY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SELECTED EMPLOYEE.
