In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Providing insight to spaceflight vehicle providers in the area of Active Thermal Control Systems and operating spaceflight vehicles operating above and beyond the earth’s atmosphere; Working with multidisciplinary teams integrating spacecraft thermal systems; Supporting the development of costs and schedules for projects or programs. Serves as the Active Thermal Control System (ATCS) System Manager for the Orion Program within the Crew and Thermal Systems Division, Thermal Systems Branch. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership and management for ATCSs for human space flight vehicles in the Thermal Systems Branch located at Johnson Space Center. You will lead in the management of a highly skilled team providing technical authority to the Program and provide products to the Program regarding the system.
