FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST

To qualify for a GS-09, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience interpreting and applying budgetary policies, precedents, procedures, regulations and guidelines of a functional area. Experience identifying, analyzing and resolving a range of budgetary problems such as development of alternative methods of funding. Experience utilizing administrative and financial management systems. Experience formulating budget estimates for programs in which funding requirements have changed significantly. Experience exhibiting a high degree of skill in analytical reasoning, ability to apply skill to the identification, analysis and conceptualization of budgetary problems and development of alternative solutions is required. Experience using Department-wide financial system and reporting requirements sufficient to plan and conduct financial studies and write reports; conducting financial reviews, determining compliance with generally accepted accounting and financial management principles and standards. To qualify for a GS-07, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying functions, goals, objectives, work processes, and funding sources sufficient to related needs and accomplishments to anticipated or actual dollar figures. Experience implementing budgetary, accounting, and/or financial administration practices, procedures, regulations and policies of the organization. Experience working with financial and accounting systems such as Standard Accounting, and Reporting Systems-Field Level (STARS-FL) and Command Financial Management Systems (CFMS-F), and governing policies and procedures imposed by financial control agencies. Experience analyzing source information and applying it to specific areas of work. Experience researching to locate accounting, budget and financial information to prepare summaries for use by higher-graded analysts.
