No assumptions will be made about your experience. To qualify for the GS-12, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11). Specialized experience is further defined as demonstrated experience in workforce and strategic planning, identifying issues, resolving conflicts, and negotiating solutions. Oversight responsibilities for administrative and financial management functions, as well as managing or supervising a variety of different program areas, such as resource management, budget, or human resource functions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: Work in primarily in an office setting. There is frequent travel to field sites via four-wheel drive vehicles, fixed wing aircraft, helicopter, and boats. There is a potential for adverse climatic conditions. Field work involves walking, bending and climbing on steep and rough terrain. Work Environment: Most work is at office setting. Field sites involve exposure to adverse weather, i.e., rain, snow, cold and/or heat. Some outdoor work requires special safety precautions. Incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manual/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer
