MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR GRADE 7: High School Diploma or GED plus three (3) years of administrative or clerical experience in a court, legal or office environment; or an Associate’s degree plus two (2) years of administrative or clerical experience in a court, legal or office environment. Two (2) years of proficient experience in the use of technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe. Some familiarity with the criminal judicial system, judicial branch or legal terminology is preferred. You only need to submit educational documents, if qualifying based on a degree. Must possess the ability to: multi-task, work well with a diverse group of people, accurately type in real time while monitoring a proceeding, attention to detail, attentiveness, organized, and able to work under pressure.
The Courtroom Clerk works in the divisions of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The Courtroom Clerk serves as a subject matter expert, is responsible for managing courtroom operations and may handle specialized calendars.
