Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of the general warehouse layout, item identification codes, basic warehouse procedures, and storage areas in order to place, pull, move, arrange, and rotate items per established procedures. Skill in the use of manual dollies, electric lifts, and hand tools. Ability to identify obvious damage to materials through visual inspections. Responsibility: Works under the supervision of a designated supervisor. Carries out assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or instructions from supervisor. Work is reviewed in terms of efficiency of operations and adherence to procedures. Physical Effort: Performs work on a hard surface and in work areas that require you to walk, stoop, bend, and stand for a long period of time. Uses push cart to transport merchandise. Climbs ladder to pull stock, stock shelves and bins. Uses sharp instrument to break open boxes. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs. independently and objects over 45 lbs. with assistance. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside or outside and in close quarters in storage areas or bin aisles, ramps or on platforms that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty and poorly lighted. Exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, etc., and injury from falling stock. Must wear issued protective gear.
