To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/20/2024. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: One (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the Supply Technician position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-4 level in federal service to qualify at the Grade 5. Examples of specialized experience include (but are not limited to): Skill to stock items in order to advise and assist staff and patients concerning proper set up and use of items; Skill in supply accountability rules and regulations in order to correctly process necessary paperwork; Knowledge of proper supply and equipment handling, to avoid accidents, injury, and loss, damage, or destruction of property through incorrect work procedures; Skill of general administrative work to include basic filing, updating documents, and sorting mail ~OR~ EDUCATION: Four years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable for this position. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED. ~OR~ COMBINING EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Equivalent combinations of experience and education are qualifying for this position. TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED. Analysis and Problem Solving Attention to Detail Computer Skills Customer Service Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work requires standing and walking during the majority of the workday with frequent bending and lifting of supply packages (occasionally weighing as much as 40 pounds). The employee regularly pushes loaded carts weighing several hundred pounds and works then over slight rises such as doors sills. Considerable amount of pulling, bending, stooping, stretching and reaching is done when stocking medical supplies.
