FOR GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a knowledge of traffic management regulations and methods to provide efficient and economical transportation support work. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Process multiple files, records, labels, requisitions in the transportation database for all shipments; 2) Assist in calculating shipment cost for transportation services and rates; 3) Select the proper carrier and equipment to process and approve small shipments such as bus, air express, parcel post or small package carrier considering due date, size and weight and commodity restrictions; 4) Identifying errors in the billing statements to manage and fix minor problems with the carriers; 5) Prepare instructions for materials being shipped for point to point movement.
