Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Fabric Worker~ without more than normal supervision. Perform the common measuring and fitting of clothing items. Inspect clothing items to ensure they are free of defects. Apply written instructions and regulatory guidance to ensure that alterations meet proper fit guidelines; and perform inventories of items. – Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Screen Out Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Measurement and Layout Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Physical Effort: Incumbent performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas requiring standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally required to lift and carry heavier, bulkier items weighing up to 60 pounds. Working Conditions: Works in an enclosed area that is adequately lighted, ventilated, and heated. Work may be dirty and dusty. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, and noise from sewing machines. Subject to strains and injury from lifting and handling heavy stock.
