ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (TITLE 32)

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service “under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709” and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLANG BUS Code NG0522: This position is “included” in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. The current exclusive representative is The Association of Civilian Technicians, Chapter 87 and the President is Mr. Michael Ortmayer at actch87@gmail.com. MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted; E1 thru E7. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which has provided the knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-10 Must have 18 months experience or training in repairing, rebuilding, modifying, and testing a variety of major subassemblies. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components. Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials.
