While there is no minimum amount of training or experience required, the applicant must have had experience, military or civilian, paid or unpaid, of sufficient scope and quality to perform the duties of a Automotive Worker, WG-5823-08. The applicant must have experience which requires: Ability to Do the Work of The Position with Normal Supervision: The applicant must have experience performing such duties as diagnosing, removing, replacing, cleaning, and installing a wide variety of parts, components, and accessories, perform safety inspections on multiple lines of vehicles i.e. (Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet and various other types of motorized assets) to ensure vehicles are safe to operate, be familiar with automotive diagnostics tools to include, equipment designed to troubleshoot specific automotive systems and computer programs designed to monitor and diagnose electrical sensors and controls along with performing preventative maintenance such as changing oil, filter, air filter, fuel filter, differential and transfer case fluid change, greasing chassis and drive line and topping of all fluids. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Note: Current or former Federal employees MUST submit a copy of their SF-50 Form which shows competitive service appointment (“position occupied” block 34 on the SF-50 should show a “1”), tenure group (block 24 should show a 1 or 2), grade, and salary. If you are applying for a higher grade, please provide the SF-50 Form which shows the length of time you have been in your current/highest grade (examples of appropriate SF-50s include promotions, With-in Grade/Range Increases, and SF-50s dated a year apart within the same grade/job).
