You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to: 1) Provide strategic communications counsel to senior leaders. 2) Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies for an organization. 3) Manage and supervise a communications staff and oversee program execution. 4) Operate in crisis situations and provide effective media response/engagement for an organization. 5) Serve as a spokesperson for an organization and develop relationships with media outlets. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position is part of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Office of External Affairs. As the Managing Director, Communications you will develop and implement communication strategies that promote the DFCs mission, values, and objectives to key stakeholders, including the public, policymakers, media outlets, and private sector partners.
