BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector. Examples include assisting with all aspects of supervision of the total public health nursing services at either the Tribal, City, County, State or Federal level; providing supervision, leadership, and direction of subordinate staff, maintaining the continuity and effectiveness of nursing services, to insure delivery of quality patient care, and to serve as a role model for professional nursing; assuring that nursing care is provided and for accomplishment of work planning, direction and performance evaluation and/or direct supervision of temporary and permanent professional nursing employees; performing nursing care duties as needed and providing community/public health nursing services to individual eligible for services; assisting in conducting epidemiological and community surveys, field investigations and research studies to appraise health needs; planning and developing a Community Health Nursing program for Public Health focus areas; performing physical and psychosocial assessment and reassessment of varied age clientele that includes infant, child, adolescent, adults and geriatrics. This position serves as the Director of Public Health Nursing for the Pawnee Indian Health Center located in Pawnee, Oklahoma. The purpose of this position is to assess, plan, implement, manage and evaluate a comprehensive primary care, preventive and therapeutic Public Health Nursing (PHN) program for the Pawnee Indian Health Center. Incumbent reports to the Chief Nurse Executive.
