Selective Placement Factor: Experience processing the full scope of payroll and personnel actions using the Department of Agriculture’s National Finance Center (NFC) system (as proven on resume). GS-12 Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: Assists in the analysis and interpretation of federal regulations, department policies, proposed pay and leave legislation, while providing basic support regarding internal agency compensation programs. Provides information and guidance to employees and managers on payroll processes, policies, and procedures. Provides assistance and general guidance on various compensation matters, including unique and complex issues. GS-13 Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: Provides advice and in-depth analysis on federal regulations, department policies, proposed pay and leave legislation, and internal agency compensation programs. Educates employees and managers on payroll processes, policies, and procedures. Offers specialized analysis and advice on unique and complex compensation matters.
