In order to qualify, you must meet the specialize experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year, or will have one year within 120 days of closing of this announcement, of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include experience in planning and carrying out assignments independently; conceives and defines solutions to highly complex problems; analyzes, interprets, and reports findings of projects; and guides technical and programmatic work of team members in comparable junior grades. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the Department of Defense Space cadre, understanding of current education and training priorities, goals, instructional models and challenges for the Space Force and joint space operations cadres. Understanding and ability to manage responsibilities that produce USSF accessions and student pipeline management processes through basic military training, officer candidate school, initial skills training and professional continuing education and training programs. Strong analytical background that supports understanding and enables generation of required military and civilian senior leader level analysis and assessments. Highly experienced in Air Force Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Ability to identify problems, develop and implement innovative detailed strategies to resolve a wide range of program issues. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals/groups within and outside immediate work unit including filed level representatives. Knowledge of military service program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key force development events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of those events to positive outcomes. Ability to gather, assemble, ad analyze facts, draw conclusions, conduct analysis, devise recommended solutions, and package the entire process in briefings, papers, or reports suitable for top management use and decision-making. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
