Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying professional principles, concepts, practices and methodologies of chemistry to determine test requirements and analyze petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) samples. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Assisting in the oversight and operation of a POL testing laboratory, ensuring compliance with all established standards for operation, safety, and record keeping; 2) Applying a wide spectrum of qualitative and qualitative methods to assess fuel quality assurance data and conditions for all products received, stored and issued; 3) Operating and monitoring sophisticated automated testing systems and equipment; 4) Serving as a Chemist analyzing POL and Waste Water samples and performing tests to determine product quality, type, and identification of contaminants, ensuring that products are within specified limits; 5) Ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local environmental standards/laws/regulations and coordinating the proper disposal of Hazardous Materials and Waste Water; 6) Maintaining Laboratory test equipment operational condition and calibration per equipment.
