Only experience and education obtained by 11/21/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification. Minimum Qualification [GS-12] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-11 in the Federal service. Experience may include: Working closely with Natural Resource programs to prepare narrative justifications for budget submissions and answering budget questions from Department, Office of Management and Budget, and Congressional Appropriations staff; Analyzing data to support developing budget or financial estimates; Tracking budgetary impacts of proposed legislation; Preparing budget tables and/or entering budget data in databases. Minimum Qualification [GS-13] One year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience may include: Conducting research into budgetary needs, or legislative issues, synthesizes information, provides analyses, including options, for decision-makers; Monitors financial statements and identifies issues for resolution; Coordinates the assessment of proposed legislation, appropriations bills and reports, and regulations for impacts on the Service’s policies, programs, and management; Provides technical guidance and assistance to program managers on the content and format of budget justifications; Provides information and analysis, as required, to answer Congressional and OMB requests. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time In Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet both eligibility and qualification requirements for the position of interest by the closing date of the JOA. Specifically, i. Area of Consideration. ii. Time-in-grade (TIG) requirements as specified in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. iii. Time after competitive appointment as specified in 5 CFR 330.502. iv.
