To qualify for this position, applicant(s) meet the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires at least one (1) full year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service (GS-5), that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of an Accounting Technician, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes performing accounting procedures relating to funding, appropriation allotments, obligations and disbursements, and analyzing the interrelationship of accounts; completing procurement transactions and documents, proper accounting coding and account reconciliation; and using various financial management systems and databases. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Administration and Management Attention to Detail Decision Making IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: Physical demands are of the type that would normally occur in an office environment. Stress levels mount during regularly occurring accounting time frame deadlines – monthly, quarterly, and end-of fiscal year. The majority of time is spent seated. Requires some walking, bending, standing, lifting, and climbing stairs.
