Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date11/22/2024 of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions and specialized experience, as defined. Time in grade: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-12 grade level for consideration for the GS-13 grade level). You must include an SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one) that supports meeting this requirement with your application package Specialized experience for the GS-13 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized work experience in the agricultural field (equivalent to the GS-12 grade level) in the Federal service. Experience that involved work in directing, planning, administering, and reviewing programs that demonstrate knowledge of the laws and regulations governing commodity and/or agricultural credit programs and of the particular application of national policies and objectives at the State level; understanding of farming practices and customs in the United States, and of the economic needs of farm communities at the State level; knowledge of current state and federal agricultural trends; and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with representatives of public and private organizations, farmer’s associations, and others, and to interpret regulations, programs, and policies affecting them. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is with the Farm Service Agency, New Mexico State Office, the actual duty location may be anywhere in the District 2 cities listed and will be determined after selection. Provides oversight, advice, training and guidance to Country Committees and County staff on commodity programs and farm loan programs; conducts ongoing evaluations of program and administrative operations within the district; makes loan program decisions; and supervises agricultural farm loan managers.
