BUDGET ANALYST

Specialized Experience: For the GS-11, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-09 if outside the Federal service, is required. Specialized experience at the GS-11 level is defined as experience assisting in providing financial advisory services for a large organization; and experience assisting in formulating and justifying budgets, analyzing budget submissions and financial data, and certifying and executing funds. For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service, is required. Specialized experience at the GS-12 level is defined as experience assisting in providing financial advisory services for a large organization; experience assisting in formulating and justifying budgets, analyzing budget submissions and financial data, and certifying and executing funds; and experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving a wide range of budgetary problems; and experience utilizing financial systems to research and analyze data pertaining to the budgets. For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service, is required. Specialized experience at the GS-13 level is defined as experience assisting in providing financial advisory services for a large organization; experience assisting in formulating and justifying budgets, analyzing budget submissions and financial data, and certifying and executing funds; and experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving a wide range of budgetary problems; experience utilizing financial systems to research and analyze data pertaining to the budgets; and experience with programming, budget formulation, budget justification and presentation, and budget execution. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant’s background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense using hiring authority in 5 USC 9905. DISA has delegated authority by the Under Secretary of Defense to directly appoint qualified candidates possessing a finance, accounting, management, or actuarial science degree, or a related degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study, or equivalent experience, related to the functions of the position to be filled.
