To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/31/2024. Basic Requirement: To be eligible, applicants must be accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis as defined by the institution in which you are enrolled. Qualified applicants will have a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. All education beyond high school must be accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This position does not require prior work experience. This position does not require a practice license. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. This announcement is for the Summer Tampa Research Immersion Program (Summer TRIP) at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. Summer TRIP is part of the Summer Research Program sponsored by VA Office of Research and Development (ORD). Student trainees (scholars) are key for the development of future generations of VA researchers in basic, clinical, and implementation science who will contribute to innovations in healthcare for our nations Veterans.
