PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST (Title 32)

Military Grades: E-1 through E-7 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: All Series GS-0080 personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level. Each applicant must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career level, as cited on page two. Applicants must have the experiences, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Applicants must demonstrate the ability or have endorsements that indicate the ability to learn and perform the cited position’s duties. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Knowledgeable on the management and administration of the Intrusion Detection System program. Experienced in advising supervisor of any base or site activities that may impact the Integrated Base Defense Security Systems program. Skilled in completing reports and documents the Intrusion Detection System program maintenance requirements to the servicing maintenance organization. Experienced in monitoring Intrusion Detection System false and nuisance alarms and knowledgeable on how to request assistance from the maintenance organization to resolve problems and deficiency. Competent in managing and administering the physical access control systems. Has the working knowledge of entry control points and related applications associated with the Integrated Base Defense Security Systems and the Air Force Justice Information System (AFJIS). Experienced in performing administrative office support functions and develops, coordinates, and publishes all Security Forces’ installation level publications to include the Installation Security Plan, the Installation Security Instruction, and Security Forces annexes to all installation plans.
