Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume. In order to qualify, you must first meet Pathways Recent Graduate Program eligibility: You must have, within the previous 2 years, completed all educational requirements for a qualifying associate, bachelor, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying institution; or intended graduation is no more than 9 months from date of application; -OR- Veterans (as defined in 5 U.S.C. 2108) who, due to a military service obligation, were precluded from applying to a Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the 2-year eligibility period may have their eligibility period extended so that they receive the full 2 years of eligibility. The remaining 2-year eligibility period will begin upon his or her release or discharge from active duty. The veteran’s eligibility period may not extend beyond 6 years from the date of completion of all requirements of an academic course of study. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: PATHWAYS RECENT GRADUATE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: The IRS Pathways Recent Graduates Program offers developmental opportunities in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals, who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs within the previous 2 years, or who intend to successfully complete their educational requirements within 9 months of their application date. If selected, you will be placed in a position as indicated in the vacancy announcement. In order to successfully complete the IRS Pathways Recent Graduates Program, you must complete a 1-year training program, a minimum of at least 40 hours of interactive training, and demonstrate successful job performance. All conversion requirements will be identified in the Participant Agreement. Following the completion of program requirements, you may be considered for non-competitive conversion to a career-conditional or term appointment. To be eligible for the IRS Pathways Recent Graduates Program, you must have, within the previous 2 years, completed all educational requirements for qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying institution; or you are a veteran, who, due to a military service obligation was precluded from applying to the Recent Graduates Program during a portion of the 2-year eligibility period; or expect to graduate within 9 months of the date of your application. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: FOR GS-07: In addition to meeting the Pathways eligibility requirements above, to be eligible for the GS-7 level you must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Performing entry-level work including analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; experience planning and organizing work, and communicating factual and procedural information clearly, verbally, and in writing. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: One (1) year of graduate education in a field of study that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position such as: human resources, public administration, organizational psychology, or other administrative and management fields. OR Superior Academic Achievement may be met by having a Bachelor’s degree, with one of the following: A GPA of 2.95 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last 2 years of study, or a GPA of 3.45 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all courses in the major field of study or those courses in the major completed in the last 2 years of study, or rank in the upper one third of the class in the college, university, or major subdivision, or membership in a national honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. Note: Grade point averages should be rounded to one decimal point. For example, 2.95 is rounded to 3.0, and 2.94 is rounded to 2.9. If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) was taken on a pass/fail or similar basis, your claim must be based on class standing or membership in an Honor Society.
