INSPECTOR GENERAL

GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and have a mastery of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of complex management processes and systems. Experience recognizing and analyzing problems, conducting research, summarizing results, and making appropriate recommendations. Experience researching, analyzing, interpreting and applying rules, regulations, and procedures. Experience planning, conducting, and recording surveys and inspections. Experience and knowledge of goals, resources, objectives, organizations, functions, and sources pertinent to the program(s) and the organizations studied or served, and related customers, functions, resources, and users. Experience designing and conducting comprehensive management studies, and preparing solutions to especially broad, important, and severe management problems. Experience planning, organizing, and directing team study work, and effectively conducting critical negotiations with management to explain inspection/assessment findings and corresponding correcting actions. Experience and knowledge and have ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques. Experience originating new ideas, projects, studies, and methodologies. Experience planning and executing complex, multi faceted projects. Experience organizing and leading special study teams and task forces with members from different organizations and commands. Experience advising others and establishing and maintaining relationships with key individuals/groups outside immediate work unit. Experience meeting and dealing with customers using a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Experience communicating orally and in writing and giving oral presentations. Experience and have comprehensive knowledge of the range of administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the administration of DOD/Department of the Navy inspections/ assessment, regulations, and naval programs. Experience and knowledge of Department of Navy assessment inspections and evaluation program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the worth of program accomplishments. Experience and knowledge of relationships with other programs and key administrative support functions within DOD and Department of the Navy. Experience and have specific knowledge of Naval Inspector General policies, approaches and procedures for managing inspections/assessments and investigations. Experience in using the Naval Inspector General Hotline Tracking System (NIGHTS) and in the preparation of reports documenting inspection/assessment findings and Naval Inspector General reports of investigation. Experience interviewing complainants, witnesses, subject matter experts and using Navy databases to collect relevant evidence to support inspection/assessment and investigative findings. Experience with SharePoint or similar applications used to collect, manage and track inspection/assessment corrective action resulting from inspections/assessments as well as collating data sets to identify organizational weaknesses and identify trends.
