Supervisory Victim Assistance Specialist

To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing a majority of the following types of duties: providing advice to management on tribal and victim matters within the district; providing program oversight and guidance on victim assistance matters; determining eligibility for victim-witness services; providing direct services and support to crime victims throughout the legal process, assuring compliance with laws and policies concerning crime victims; developing program protocols for the victim-witness assistance program; conducting workshops, seminars and meetings with victim-witness subject-matter specialists, tribal, federal, state and local officials; and assisting crime victims with obtaining services such as interpreters, transportation, federal programs and funds,(i.e. Emergency Witness Assistance Program, Federal Crime Victim Assistance Fund, Trafficking Victims Protection Act, etc.)
