The GS-13 level of this position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current registration as a Professional Engineer by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico is required. NOTE: YOU MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR REGISTRATION WITH YOUR APPLICATION GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing engineering drawings, technical specifications and studies for the structural portion of large and/or highly complex buildings (i.e., multi-story office buildings, training facilities, multi-purpose buildings, aircraft hangars, medical facilities maintenance shops, food service facilities, and/or large housing projects; 2) Resolving structural engineering construction and design issues encountered during the performance of facilities contracts; 3) Performing field investigations to verify and document existing structural conditions as a basis for the design of facility projects; 4) Managing the design development of engineering facilities projects with adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards; 5) Reviewing facilities construction submittals for conformance to the requirements of structural engineering contract drawings / specifications. GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing structural engineering design documents, (i.e. drawings, specifications & basis of designs) for new construction and renovation projects; 2) Preparing structural engineering calculations in support of structural engineering designs for new construction and renovation projects; 3) Developing design drawings via computer aided drafting software including, but not limited to Foundation Plans, Floor and Roof Framing Plans, Elevations, Sections and Details for diverse building systems and types; and 4) Preparing statements of work and fee estimates for design projects drawing, specifications, and reports for compliance to codes and standards.
