Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower band level (CS-III, PE-IIB, PA-II, PT-III, MS-I), or at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as conducting research and performing quantitative and qualitative analysis on program operations or procedures related to planning and evaluation of federal programs that serve Tribes and their members; extracting data for report findings and recommendations; and presenting findings to various audiences.
This position is in the Natural Resource and Environmental (NRE) team of the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Washington, DC. The NRE team is responsible for conducting and coordinating GAOs evaluations of the federal governments efforts to manage and oversee programs serving federally recognized Tribes and their members. GAOs tribal work includes issues such as energy development, environmental protection, broadband access, education, and health care.
