In addition to the Basic Education Requirement your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience possessing and applying a professional knowledge of the principles, concepts and methodology set forth by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) within their Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS) gained from certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist or Exercise Physiologist/Athletic Trainer in order to assess/analyze individuals to determine effective programs of physical fitness, promote health, and ensure safety during participation in exercise. Experience possessing knowledge, skills and ability in the Scientific Foundations and Practical/Applied aspects of strength and conditioning to provide training on improving athletic performance, provide guidance regarding nutrition and injury prevention. Experience possessing and applying knowledge of governing fitness and Physical Training (PT) programs, strength and conditioning techniques and principles, including core strength/stability, energy system development, multidirectional strength and power development, plyometric, and balance and nutrition, anatomy, medical terminology and procedures Experience possessing and applying the ability to administer health screening and fitness assessments, exercise prescription, progressive individual fitness programs, and demonstrating proper exercise techniques.
