Minimum Qualifications (Screen-Out Element): Ability to Lead or Supervise. Ability to do the work of a Cook Supervisor without more than normal supervision which includes at least two of the following: (1) Supervising or leading others in the performance of Cook duties; (2) Resolving work-related problems; (3) Setting deadlines and/or priorities; and (4) Inspecting completed work for quality and/or work order requirements. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. Ability To Lead or Supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work involves lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, standing, and walking. Employee must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted, and be able to lift and move heavier objects with assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee is exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures, must stand on tile floor, subject to burns, cuts and other injuries from hand tools or power equipment. Required to work at any Cadet Mess facility including off post camps. The employee is required to wear protective shoes, appropriate hearing protection, and gloves or other safety and food handling items required by food handling guides.
